On Tuesday, November 22, Real Madrid faced Borussia Dortmund in the second round of the UEFA Champions League. Having lost their previous match in the competition against Lille (1–0), the Spanish club were aiming to get back to winning ways.

The game started off a bit divided and Real Madrid couldn’t impose their favoritism on the Santiago Bernabeu. 25 minutes into the game, Borussia Dortmund were showing signs that they wanted to win and weren’t intimidated by Real Madrid, the European champions.

And 30 minutes into the game, the Germans opened the scoring through Donyell Malen, after a fine assist from Sehrou Guirassy in the center of the penalty area set up his teammate who didn’t flinch in front of Belgian giant Thibaut Courtois. it was 1–0.

Just four minutes passed and in the 34th minute Borussia took advantage of the insecurity of the Blanca defense to increase their lead to 2–0, this time it was Jamie Bynoe-Gitens who scored with an assist from Donyell Malen.

Real Madrid tried to reduce the deficit in the first half but were unsuccessful, and Dortmund ran out 2–0…
